Crazy Corn

Ingredients
4 batches of popped white popcorn (1/2 grocery bag full)
3 sticks Imperial margarine
1 stick butter
1 C light Karo syrup
2 2/3 C Pioneer Sugar or Big Chief Sugar
2 tsp. real vanilla
Directions
In a heavy saucepan melt butter and margarine together. Add Karo syrup and Pioneer Sugar or Big Chief Sugar. Heat to hard boil on candy thermometer (if no candy thermometer; boil for 20 - 30 minutes and drop some mixture into cold water until hard). Remove from heat and add vanilla; stir well. Pour over popcorn and mix well. Spread on counter top and cool. Store in airtight container.
